Tokyo, Japan – On Aug. 28, 2022, Digital Wallet Corporation (DWC) sponsored the Teej Festival in Shin-Okubo. DWC sent the Smiles Mobile Remittance Nepal Team to attend and support the event.
Ramechhap Society Japan, a nonprofit organization, hosted the Teej Festival. The event celebrated Nepali patriotism and also held a charity activity for those who are in need in Nepal.
Numerous Nepali high-profile leaders and representatives of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) attended as well as the acclaimed Nepali singer, Raju Lama, from a popular band, Mongolian Heart.
Additional Teej events occur in Japan annually. However, Smiles Nepal chose to sponsor Ramechhap Society Japan, as it’s one of a few societies that focus on donating its profits to different schools, colleges and students from poor financial backgrounds in Nepal.
As a charity-based event, this is the first time the Smiles Nepal Team holds a donation campaign for the Nepali community in Japan.
Smiles focuses on spreading smiles across the miles each day for customers and its global community. Therefore, the Teej Festival was an ideal event that helps bring everyone closer together.
