What’s the One Million Smiles Program?
One Million Smiles is a heartwarming initiative by Smiles Mobile Remittance, Japan’s most popular money transfer service. In 2021, after Smiles received requests from Filipino customers, we launched this program to support underprivileged families in the Philippines.
In the inaugural year, we teamed up with 100 Smiles customers to deliver holiday food packages (ayuda) to 100 needy families during 100 days of Christmas, making a significant impact.
The overwhelming success in 2021 led to a repeat in 2022, and it’s clear that the One Million Smiles Program is here to stay as an annual tradition, bringing smiles and relief to those in need.
Sharing Smiles with Communities Everywhere
This year, the Smiles team visited schools in Davao, Bicol, and Bulacan to meet students, their families, and teachers, to share smiles and hear their stories firsthand. Joining the distribution was Gabby Concepcion, Smiles’ Global Brand Ambassador, who helped hand out backpacks filled with school supplies for the students and food packages to support their families with daily challenges. Through these efforts, Smiles aimed to bring hope and show that someone cares, encouraging the students and their families to keep striving for a brighter future.

Campaign Overview:
- Point Donation: For every money transfer, 5 points will be earmarked for donation, and these points will be deducted from the user’s total points balance.
Important Points:
- Eligible Transactions: This campaign encompasses all international money transfers to the Philippines, regardless of the user’s nationality.
- Campaign Duration: The campaign is scheduled to run from September 16, 2025,00:00 JST, until December 25, 2025, 23:59 JST
Additional Notes:
- In the event of transaction cancellation, the corresponding donation points will also be voided.
- This donation campaign temporarily reduces the points awarded for completed transactions during the campaign period and allocates an equivalent amount to support a donation in the Philippines. Customers are unable to opt out of these donations on a transaction-by-transaction basis.
