Smiles Mobile Remittance Marks Three Years as the Major Sponsor of Philippine Festival
The Philippine Embassy in Japan recently held a thanksgiving event on March 8, 2026, to celebrate the success of the Philippine Festival 2025.
Sponsors, vendors and volunteers who supported last year’s event attended the gathering.

The festival, held at Yoyogi Park, recorded its largest turnout so far, with an estimated 550,000 visitors over two days. The event featured Filipino food, live performances and cultural activities. For many Filipinos living in Japan, the festival is a chance to reconnect with their culture and experience a sense of home.
During the thanksgiving program, Ambassador Mylene De Joya Garcia-Albano thanked everyone who contributed to the event’s success. Certificates of appreciation were also given to participating organizations.

One of the key moments of the event was the recognition of Smiles Mobile Remittance as the major sponsor of the Philippine Festival for three consecutive years. The company has consistently supported the event and its efforts to bring the Filipino community together.
As part of the celebration, the Smiles team also joined the program raffle and gave away merchandise and souvenirs to attendees. The activity added excitement to the event and gave participants a chance to take home small tokens from the celebration.

Smiles Director and Executive Vice President Alex Milan shared that the company plans to continue supporting the festival in the coming years. He highlighted the importance of giving back to the community and supporting Filipinos living and working abroad.
Smiles Mobile Remittance continues to focus on helping overseas Filipinos by providing convenient and reliable services, while also supporting community events that bring people closer together.
As preparations begin for the next Philippine Festival, Smiles expressed its excitement to once again be part of an event that celebrates Filipino culture in Japan.
