Smiles & Raftel Satya: Strengthening Community Through Sports
Table of contents
In May 2025, Smiles Mobile Remittance had the opportunity to support a Mini Soccer Tournament organized by LPK Raftel Satya Indonesia at Ganda Agung Stadium. This event was intended to help strengthen the community of Indonesian migrant workers in Japan.
For Smiles, sports-based activities play an important role in our mission to build and connect with the community of Indonesian migrant workers. Sports activities not only provide a form of recreation, but also create a space to maintain togetherness and a spirit of mutual support among migrant workers, both those currently living and working in Japan and prospective migrant workers in Indonesia preparing to travel to Japan.
Smiles Cup 2.0
This commitment was also reflected in the various sports activities Smiles has held previously, including Smiles Cup 2.0. This futsal tournament was successfully held for the second time in Osaka on November 16, 2025, and became more than just a competition, as it was a celebration of togetherness for the Indonesian community living and working in Japan.

The event saw participation from 32 teams from different cities, with high spirits of sportsmanship and a warm, family-like atmosphere. Smiles organized Smiles Cup 2.0 with no entry fees for participants as a form of care and commitment to providing a positive space for Smiles friends to play sports, build connections, and strengthen their sense of community abroad.
Building Relationships Starting From Preparation at Home
Through community activities like this, Smiles wants to introduce prospective Indonesian migrant workers to the importance of having a supportive community. At the same time, Smiles aims to share its mission of uniting the Indonesian community in Japan. From the preparation stage back home, Smiles hopes that prospective migrant workers will understand they are not undertaking their journey to Japan alone — they are part of a strong and connected community.
Going forward, Smiles is committed to continuing and expanding similar programs by collaborating with more placement agencies (LPKs) in Indonesia. Through these collaborations, Smiles hopes to create sustainable spaces for togetherness for future migrant workers while also building bridges between the Indonesian community in Indonesia and the Indonesian community in Japan.
