The One Million Smiles Program: How Smiles Gives Back to Communities

Smiles Mobile Remittance, Japan’s absolute no. 1 mobile remittance app, has expanded its One Million Smiles Program to reach more communities across the Philippines. In past years, the program supported families in need with food packages and ayuda. This year, Smiles is focusing on students. The program provides school bags and essential supplies to help build brighter smiles. Food assistance for families will also continue.

How the initiative started
The One Million Smiles initiative began in 2021, when Smiles partnered with 100 customers to deliver holiday food packages to 100 families during the “100 Days of Christmas”. The project, created to share hope and happiness, has since grown into an annual campaign that continues to uplift families and students.
In 2025, the program expanded to Bicol, Davao and Bulacan. As the school year began, the Smiles team delivered backpacks, notebooks, pens and other school essentials. Food packages were also provided to support students and help ease the financial burden on their parents.

At selected schools, the Smiles team held short programs and personally handed out the supplies to beneficiaries. In Bulacan, families also met Smiles’ global brand ambassador, Gabby Concepcion, who joined the team in distributing food packages to students and their parents.

The initiative reflects Smiles Mobile Remittance’s broader mission of supporting migrant workers and their families. Beyond providing fast, affordable and secure remittance services, Smiles aims to give back to the communities that matter most to its customers.
With the One Million Smiles Program 2025, Smiles continues its goal of building brighter futures and sharing smiles, one community at a time.
