Wetaskiwin, Alberta | June 14–15, 2024 — Smiles joined the first Multicultural United Heritage Festival by the Wetaskiwin Filipino Community Foundation.
Celebrating Culture and Unity in Wetaskiwin
Filipinos, the largest visible minority in Wetaskiwin, united to promote peace, diversity, and unity through performances, delicacies, and cultural exhibits. The event showcased the richness of Filipino traditions alongside other cultural groups within the community.
Festival-goers enjoyed vibrant attractions inspired by famous Filipino celebrations like Cebu’s Sinulog Festival and Mindanao’s traditional Fan Dance. Filipino food and music were among the top highlights, drawing in large crowds eager to celebrate and share in the joyful atmosphere.

Despite the cloudy weather, Smiles Mobile Remittance Canada received a warm welcome from attendees. The Smiles team thanked the Filipino community for their support, engaging visitors with fun activities, giveaways, and special offers.
Fun, Food, and Family at Jubilee Park
The festival at Jubilee Park on Main Street featured food trucks, vendors, and 18 carnival rides in a spacious venue. Both adults and children enjoyed the two-day celebration, which even welcomed furry companions.
