FintechJAPAN’S MIGRANTS TO ENJOY A MOBILE-CENTRIC REMITTANCE SERVICE ON AI AND ROBOTICS PLATFORM
More than 2.0 million migrants in Japan will benefit from the new remittance and payment service systems to hit the market this June 2017. This remittance service has employed the latest technologies, such as FinTech, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, digital wallet, mobile money and cloud technology, to make sending money and making payment safer, more efficient and easier than the traditional way.
Digital Wallet Corporation, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and FinTech company based in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan, has introduced its latest offering – a remittance service under the brand of SMILES Remit&Pay. It is initially being offered to around 230,000 Filipinos living and working in Japan; then, to the rest of the Japan-based migrants in a few months.
Considered as the next big thing by modern-day shakers and movers including Bill Gates of Microsoft and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, `artificial intelligence (AI) and automation is an area undergoing a seismic shift, just like computers did in the 1980s and plastics did 30 years before that, and how people around the world changed how to communicate and share information about themselves 10 years ago`. (MarketWatch, June 2, 2017 by Quentin Fottrell).
SMILES Remit&Pay is a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) service where customers can download the SMILES APP from Apple Store or Google Play, register and create remittance transaction; after they have been approved as Classic or Premium members by Digital Wallet Compliance and Operations Team.
According to Digital Wallet Corporation`s founder and president, Eiji Miyakawa,
“We are pleased to deliver this brand-new service which is not just a mere fintech service; but, also envisioning to deliver warm connections among family members and friends. There is always a story behind the sending of money to families: there are various backgrounds, dramas, wishes, and gratitude involved. We are keen to deliver heart-warming emotions and appreciations altogether. This service springs forth from our strong motivation to offer mobile-centric remittance service for global citizens living apart from family and friends.”
During its initial launch, SMILES Remit&Pay has partnered with the premier financial institution from the Philippines, Development Bank of the Philippines(DBP) as represented by its First Vice President, Mr. George Sy Inocencio to serve the OFWs in Japan.
DBP`s EC Remit will complement @SMILES Remit&Pay services in the Philippines. There are over 3,000 locations for cash pick-up, such as Cebuana Lhuillier and MLhuillier pawshops, DBP branches, etc. where beneficiaries can claim their money. Customers can also remit money for credit to any bank in the Philippines within 24 hours to 48 hours.
“We are thrilled to provide a simple, first-of-its-kind, mobile-centric, secured, and value-for-money remittance service where our fellow overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Japan can also benefit from their own transactions by earning recurring loyalty points; and from their network of friends by earning recurring shokai points from the transactions of their referrals, which potentially could pay for their own future transactions”, according to DWC`s Executive Vice President – Remittance and Payments, Alex Rapi Milan.
Digital Wallet has also partnered with Bank of the Philippine Islands and Landbank of the Philippines to deliver the remittances to beneficiaries in the Philippines; also, with Ventaja International, to deliver payment of contributions by members to SSS, Pag-IBIG and Philhealth and execute other bills payments to different Philippine-based merchants.
