Support for Venezuela: Smiles Hosts Donation Relief Campaign

TOKYO, Japan — To help with the damage caused by the earthquakes that struck Venezuela at the end of June 2026, Smiles Mobile Remittance launched a 7-day solidarity campaign. This aid was for all Smiles users who sent money to Venezuela from Japan from July 1 to 7, 2026. At the end of the campaign, the initiative managed to channel significant direct support to families by refunding the total amount of fees in points, allowing users to cover the commissions on their next remittances and send more net money to their relatives.

Results of the relief campaign

Thanks to the response and trust of the community during the campaign period, the following direct impact results were achieved:

• 132 transactions to Venezuela were processed and benefited under this support measure.
• 81,000 points were returned and credited directly to customers’ Smiles Wallet balances.

How the commission refund worked

This benefit was applied directly to remittances that met the destination conditions and indicated dates. The process was carried out as follows:

• Regular transfers: Users sent their remittances with Smiles Mobile Remittance during the campaign.
• Refund in Smiles Points: The total paid in commissions for each shipment to Venezuela was calculated and, at the end of the cycle, the system reflected 100% of that value in points within the customers’ accounts.
• Availability for subsequent transfers: These points in the application were ready to be selected by the user when paying the fees for their future remittances and thus send more net money to their relatives.
