Digital Wallet, Finalist at Nikkei Japan Startup Competition
FintechTokyo, Japan – Nikkei Japan Sta-At Pitch Competition, a national business pitch contest hosted by Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei), the world’s largest financial newspaper, announced that 22 companies made it to the finals stage of its startup competition. One of the 22 companies selected was Digital Wallet Corporation, the operator and developer of the Smiles Mobile Remittance app.
In addition to Digital Wallet advancing to finals, they have also received two prizes: Outstanding Performance Award and Higashi Nihon Bank Award.
The regional competition took place last Nov. 25, 2022, where Digital Wallet and almost 450 other startup companies around Japan were given four minutes to present their business pitch to a panel of judges.
This is the fourth competition that Nikkei has organized for companies that have been in business for less than 10 years. Nikkei is also joined by major banks and companies as event sponsors.
On Feb. 23, 2022, Digital Wallet and the other finalists will present a ten-minute business pitch for the last round.
