Starting from Mar. 20, 2023, the cards will allow customers to send money overseas directly to their loved ones at more than 13,500 Lawson Bank ATMs installed in Lawson stores and other locations across the country.
This collaboration will also allow customers to quickly complete international remittance procedures with just one card. Because the Smile Mobile Remittance service is available 24 hours a day 365 days a year at Lawson Bank ATMs*, DWC and Lawson Bank expect convenience for customers to be largely improved.
The Smiles Premium Wallet Cards and Smiles Premium Wallet Cards are free to order from the Smiles Mobile Remittance app, which enables real-time, simple, and affordable remittances to over 200 countries and regions and more than 600,000 cash pickup locations worldwide.
This opportunity highly encourages foreign residents in Japan who do not have a bank account as this is a more convenient way to financially support their loved ones overseas.
Customers can easily deposit money into the card which is sent to their Smiles Wallet account or they can directly send money overseas for a low fee of 270 yen for each transaction.
The collaboration’s ultimate goal is to help the international community in Japan have a better and more sustainable experience supporting their loved ones overseas.
