Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – Smiles Mobile Remittance Canada Philippines proudly participated in the first Christmas Bazaar event of the season, Paskong Pinoy, held at the Fantasyland Hotel in West Edmonton Mall on November 26, 2023.
Paskong Pinoy, a localized event featuring around 20 vendors, showcased traditional Filipino Christmas delicacies and gift items. The event kicked off at 11:00 a.m. and continued until 6:00 p.m., drawing in a warm and festive crowd, with most attendees arriving post-Mass around noon. The ambiance was complemented by Christmas carollers singing nostalgic Filipino Christmas songs, creating a joyous atmosphere.
Among the vendors, Smiles Mobile Remittance stood out as the sole remittance business, accompanied by the bright presence of a well-known influencer, Jade Bumatay, widely known as Jadeemazing, with over 455 thousand followers on Facebook alone. The relationship with Jade allowed more localized and upbeat interactions with Filipino locals.
The turnout of around a hundred people was just right for the cozy venue. The team was thrilled to witness the positive reception (video here), with attendees expressing a genuine need for a reliable money transfer app.
