As Canada’s economy still struggles with inflation, the Government of Canada announced an increase in CCB (Canada Child Benefits) for 2023-2024.  

The Canada Child Benefits is a key component of the Government’s Affordability Plan. Since its inception, it has helped reduce the number of children living in poverty. Canadian families are not alone in facing the rising cost associated with raising kids.

Karina Gould, Minister of Families, Children, and Social Development said that they will continue to prioritize the needs of children and families and help “put money back in the pockets of Canadians when they need it most”.

CCB is one of several federal benefits that is adjusted annually in line with inflation. So, this coming July 20, 2023, families will receive 6.3% more in child benefits as compared to last year. For children under 6, the increase is from 6,997.00 to $7,437.00, and for Children aged 6-17, from $5,903.00 to $6,275.00.
