Steps to register
Step 1
How to create an account
1. Select the country you currently reside in and language
2. Swipe left to see the app’s features or tap “Skip” to move forward
3. Tap “OK” to receive notifications from the app
4. Tap “Create account”
5. Answer whether you’re a Japanese citizen or not and choose your nationality if you selected “No”
6. Tap “Next”, enter your active email address, create a password, and add a referral code if you have one. Then tap “Register” to continue
7. Tap “Next” and input secret code sent to your email
8. You now have a Smiles account! You can optionally set up a passcode for added security.
Step 2
How to verify account
1. Tap “OK”
2. Check the “I understand and agree to the information provided above” box and tap “Next”
3. Check the “I understand the statements above” box and tap “Let’s start!”
4. Review the necessary documents and move forward by tapping on the highlighted buttons
5. Enter your ID number (The screen may differ depending on your selected ID type)
6. Tap “Scan the card”
7. Hold your card close to your device until the completion screen appears
8. Make sure your card is clearly visible within the frame, then take a photo.
9. If your photo is clear and legible, tap “Take backside of card”
10. Tap “OK” and take photo of card’s backside
11. If your photo is clear and legible, tap “Take selfie”
12. Tap “OK” and proceed to the face verification
13. Make sure your face is clearly visible to the camera and follow the on-screen instructions
14. Input your details for “ID Info”, “Profile” and “Contact”. Select one of the PEP declaration answers and tap “Submit to complete”
15. Your application has been received! Please wait for approval (no need to register again). *Verification may take 2-3 business days to approve

Recover your Smiles password
1. On your Smiles app, tap “Forgot password?”
2. Enter your email address and tap “Send Code”
3. Check your email inbox, input the verification code, and tap “Next” to proceed
4. Enter your new password and tap ”OK”
5. Your new password has been successfully set! Tap “Login” to access your Smiles account with your updated login information
