Smiles Canada Philippines Sponsored and Attended First Red Deer Philippines Fiesta 2023

Red Deer, AB – This past June 11, 2023, the first ever Red Deer Philippine Fiesta 2023 took place at the Festival Hall. The event was organized by the United Filipino Entrepreneurs Association (UFEA), Red Deer chapter, and received overwhelming support from Filipino entrepreneurs in the area. Smiles Mobile Remittance Canada Philippines Team proudly sponsored the event and had a significant presence throughout the festivities.

UFEA, under the leadership of Ms. Alexis Tolentino, the president of the Red Deer chapter, managed to attract more than three thousand members in a short period of time. Business owners from various industries in Red Deer eagerly registered as UFEA members and actively participated in the event, making it a grand celebration of Filipino culture.

Participating vendors, including Smiles Mobile Remittance, were happy with the outcome of the festivities. The food vendors, in particular, were met with such high demand that many of them sold out before the end of the event. Additionally, vendors from nearby cities like Calgary and Edmonton, who are members of UFEA in their respective chapters, also showcased their products and services.

Among the non-food and non-merchandise booths, the Smiles Mobile Remittance booth stood out as the most visited. Throughout the day, the team interacted with numerous attendees, answering questions and providing information about their remittance services.

The success of the Red Deer Philippine Fiesta has sparked conversations about expanding the event in the future. Many attendees expressed the desire for extended hours and a larger venue to accommodate the growing enthusiasm and support from the Filipino community. 

The fiesta not only celebrated Filipino culture but also embodied the spirit of “bayanihan,” the act of supporting and helping one another. This cherished Filipino trait was evident throughout the event and left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
