Meet Dinesh!

I was born and raised in Gaidahawa, Rupandehi, Nepal, and I would like to help others by sharing both the challenges and positive aspects of life in Japan through social media. I mainly post informative videos in Japanese, including language lessons and practical tips about living in Japan. Many Nepali people are watching and appreciating my content, which motivates me to continue sharing valuable information.

One of the most important people in my life is my wife, Rukmini Kewat. She has always supported me in every situation. When life was difficult, she gave me the strength to move forward. Her love, care, and encouragement helped me to stay strong and focused on my goals. I’m really thankful to have her by my side.

Hardships and challenges that made you a stronger person

In the beginning, it was quite difficult to find a part-time job. Although I wasn’t fluent in Japanese, I made a strong effort to communicate in the language, even if I made mistakes. I kept trying and gradually began to find job opportunities. This experience helped me grow stronger and more confident overall.

When I was on a student visa, I used to visit a Nepali restaurant to send money to my family. It wasn’t possible to remit money every day due to time and convenience issues. But now, thanks to the Smiles Mobile Remittance app, I can send money anytime by myself, easily and quickly.

Proudest moment(s) since starting your journey living abroad

Since the beginning of my journey in Japan, I have been able to make many Japanese friends, especially through my job at a Japanese izakaya (restaurant). Working there helped me improve my Japanese language skills significantly. Now, I can confidently speak with anyone, which makes me feel proud of my progress.

Life lessons and advice for living overseas

Living in Japan teaches you to be independent. You can’t always rely on others for everything—you need to push yourself and stay strong on your own. It’s important not to rely too much on others and to do your best on your own. Sometimes the work may be difficult, especially in the beginning, but if you keep trying and put in consistent effort without giving up, things will gradually get better. Japan offers great opportunities for those who work hard and stay focused on their goals. In the long run, your dedication will lead to a better and more stable future here.

My journey in Japan has had its ups and downs, but every challenge has made me stronger and more determined. I’m grateful for how far I’ve come, and I want to inspire others who are walking a similar path.
