Smiles Bayanihan 2024 (For the Victims of Super Typhoon Carina)
Activities
August 2024, Philippines — Following the devastating Typhoon Carina, which hit the Philippines in late July, Smiles Mobile Remittance has stepped in to support affected communities. Smiles coordinated with barangay officials to assist those impacted by the severe flooding.
The powerful storm caused widespread destruction, affecting thousands of families across the country. In response, Smiles quickly launched a relief effort to help these communities.
Everyday Great Rate with Smiles
On July 28 and August 1, Smiles began a food distribution drive to address the urgent needs of families affected by the typhoon. Smiles distributed food packages to 200 families in two of the hardest-hit areas: Plaridel and Marilao in Bulacan.
The distribution was managed with the help of local volunteers and employees to ensure the aid reached families quickly and efficiently. Smiles’ commitment to supporting communities during crises aligns with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals, which focus on making a real difference in the lives of those affected by natural disasters.
