Hello Smilers! The Golden Week holiday is already upon us. Have you made any plans yet? Still wondering where to go or what to do during the Golden Week break? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! In this article, we will be introducing you to the things you can do during the Golden Week!

1. Niku Fest
The Niku Fest is usually held every year but due to the Covid-19, they did not have the event in 2019 and 2020. This year the long-awaited Niku fest is back after 2 years. There are shops that will set up booths in the Niku Fest from Hokkaido, Osaka, Miyagi, and many more. You can eat different meat cuisines from all over the world at the festival like kebab and fried dumplings. Because the festival is finally back after 2 years, we expect that there will be a lot of people coming to the festival. Please prepare your COCOA App (Japan Covid-19 contact app) as you will need to show the app at the entrance of the festival.
2. Craft Gyoza Fest
The Craft Gyoza Fest will be held in Komazawa Olympic Park in Tokyo from Friday the 29th of April until Sunday the 8th of May. The entrance fee is free! You will only have to pay for the food and drinks that you are going to consume at the event area. There will be over 20 stalls that will be there and you can eat different types of craft gyoza at the festival. There is even a chicken wing gyoza that will be available there! Gyoza pairs very well with beer. There will be craft beer stalls available at the festival. These are special craft beers because they will only be available at that event. You can really feel that Summer is here when you visit the Craft Gyoza Fest. Take your friends and family to enjoy the delicious gyoza and beer during Golden Week.
3. Sunshine Aquarium
If you are trying to avoid the heat and want to go to a cooler spot during the Golden Week, the Sunshine Aquarium is a great spot for couples and for families to go. The place is divided into 3 sections, Ocean Journey, Waterfront Journey and Sky Journey. On the first floor, there will be a big aquarium where all the ocean fishes will be and on the second floor, there will be the river fish. You can also see lake seals on the second floor. The main attraction is on the third floor where there is an overhanging tank and there you can see “Penguin in the sky”. You will be able to see African penguins swim on over you! Do head down to the Sunshine Aquarium during the Golden Week as there is a lot to see. Get ready to be amazed by the wonders that the aquarium has to offer.
4. Korean Sweets Fest
For all sweets lovers, do head down to Diver City Tokyo Plaza 2F during the Golden Week for the Korean Sweets Fest! It will be held on Friday 29th of April to Sunday 8th of May. There will be 9 food trucks serving traditional and modern Korean sweets such as fruit parfaits, fruit sandwiches and more! They will be open from 11:00am until 18:00pm. Satisfy your sweets cravings during the Golden Week because you deserve it!
5. Tokyo Skytree Town Koinobori Festival
From Friday 8th of April to Sunday 8th of May, there will be a Koinobori Festival in Tokyo Skytree. The 5th of May is Children’s day and Tokyo Skytree is celebrating Children’s day by displaying a lot of colorful koi or carp streamers in the air! You can take nice pictures of the floating koi with the Tokyo Skytree in the background. After taking pictures, you can continue to go up the Tokyo Skytree and enjoy the beautiful view of Tokyo. It is worth a visit during the Golden Week because you will be able to hit two birds with one stone!
