Smiles Mobile Remittance at the Philippine Festival Tokyo, wins second-best booth
ActivitiesTokyo, Japan – This past weekend last Dec. 3 and 4, Digital Wallet Corporation’s Smiles Mobile Remittance Philippines Team attended the Philippines Festival Tokyo at the Yoyogi Event Plaza.
The Festival attracted thousands of people from all around the Tokyo area and showed off many attractive aspects of Filipino culture including traditional dancing, food and music. Many of those who explored the 50 booths present at the event visited the vibrant green Smiles booth.
Customers, new and loyal, stopped by to play the life-size board game offered by Smiles and caught people’s attention with their karaoke skills to win 50,000 Japanese yen worth of Smiles Points.
Children were also able to enjoy activities provided by Smiles with their families as they had the chance to write a letter to Santa Claus about what they wanted for Christmas.
“The Philippine Festival was the most awaited annual event by Filipinos in Japan,” said Digital Wallet Director & Executive Vice President and OFW (overseas Filipino worker) Alex Milan. “Smiles has taken advantage of the opportunity to share our mission of helping the migrants to enjoy convenience in sending money, be of service to society and inspire others to enjoy life by sharing our smiles.”
Once the Festival came to a close, the Department of Tourism (Philippines) awarded the best booths with cash prizes and an official certificate. Out of about 50 booths, Smiles Mobile Remittance was ranked second place.
The Smiles Philippines Team has gained motivation to improve its service and experience for future festivals after receiving the award. The achievement has also inspired Smiles to continue developing donation programs to help impoverished families in the Philippines such as the current program for the Cancer Warriors Foundation.
